Over 25 years of hands-on experience

Mirek trained in physical education in Poland before settling in Canada, then earned his massage therapy diploma from Kikkawa College in Toronto in 1996. He began practising the same year at City View Chiropractic in Mississauga, and from 1998 provided on-site massage therapy for staff at Nortel. More than twenty-five years later, he brings that same hands-on experience to clients in Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington and Milton, now as a fully mobile practice.

What "registered" means

In Ontario, massage therapy is a regulated health profession. The titles "Massage Therapist" and "RMT" are protected under provincial law and may only be used by people registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Registration means meeting the College’s education and examination requirements, following its standards of practice and code of ethics, and being accountable to it. It also means Mirek issues an official RMT receipt you can submit to your extended health plan. More about insurance receipts.

You can view Mirek’s listing directly on the CMTO public register, or look up any therapist with the Find an RMT tool. His record lists him as registered since 1996 and currently in good standing.

Training and approach

Alongside his Kikkawa College diploma, Mirek has taken additional training in myofascial release and trigger point therapy over his career, and holds a current CPR and First Aid certificate. His focus is therapeutic, treatment-focused massage tailored to your needs, with sessions available in English or Polish.

With Mirek you see the same therapist every time, so there is genuine continuity of care with no rotating staff, and someone who gets to know your body and your goals. Every visit starts with a short assessment, and the session is tailored to what you need that day. Because the practice is mobile, you skip the clinic waiting room: Mirek comes to you, sets up a professional table, and your appointment happens in the comfort and privacy of your own home. He works to help relieve stress and muscle tension and support your recovery and overall well-being.

About Mirek and RMT credentials

What is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)?

A Registered Massage Therapist is a regulated healthcare professional in Ontario who has completed a recognized massage therapy education program, passed the College’s certification examinations, and is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. RMTs assess and treat the soft tissues and joints to help relieve pain and tension.

What is the difference between an RMT and a massage therapist?

In Ontario they are the same protected title: only people registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario may call themselves a Massage Therapist or RMT. Choosing a registered therapist means your treatment meets the College’s education, ethics and safety standards, and that Mirek can provide an official RMT receipt to submit to your extended health plan.

Is RMT the highest level of massage therapist in Ontario?

Ontario does not use a tiered "levels" system. Registered Massage Therapist is the regulated professional designation, which means the practitioner has met the College’s education, examination and registration requirements. Beyond that, RMTs can take additional training in specific techniques, as Mirek has. RMT is the qualification required to practise massage therapy in Ontario.

What is the difference between the CMTO and the RMTAO?

The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) is the regulator: registration is mandatory, and it sets and enforces the standards that protect the public. The Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario (RMTAO) is a separate voluntary professional association. What matters for your treatment and your insurance receipt is CMTO registration, which Mirek holds.

How can I check Mirek’s CMTO registration?

You can look up any Registered Massage Therapist on the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario public register, the Find an RMT tool on the CMTO website. Search by name to confirm a therapist is registered and in good standing. Mirek’s record lists him as registered since 1996 and currently in good standing.

What languages does Mirek speak?

Mirek speaks English and Polish, so your appointment can be in either language. He has practised in the Greater Toronto Area for over 25 years and brings his mobile massage therapy directly to your home in Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington or Milton.
