What to expect from your first mobile massage
At your first mobile massage appointment, Mirek Werykowicz, RMT brings everything needed, including a portable table, fresh sheets, towels and oil. You only provide a pillow and a small, quiet space. He starts with a brief health history and a short assessment, then tailors the session to your goals, with your comfort and privacy protected throughout.
How to prepare your space before the appointment
You do not need much. A quiet room with enough open floor space for a portable massage table, roughly the footprint of a single bed plus a bit of room to walk around it, is plenty. A bedroom, living room or spare room all work well. Clearing a small area and setting the temperature so you will feel comfortable lying still is the main thing.
If you can, keep pets in another room and let anyone at home know you would like some calm and quiet for the hour. You are welcome to have soft lighting or soft, relaxing music if that helps you unwind. The only thing to have ready is a pillow; there is no need to provide towels, oils or anything else, since Mirek brings his own clean supplies for every visit.
What happens when Mirek arrives
Mirek arrives with the portable table, fresh sheets, oils and everything else for the session, and he sets up in the space you have prepared. Because he is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, the visit begins the way any professional appointment would.
First, he will ask about your health history, any areas of discomfort, and what you would like to get out of the session, whether that is easing muscle tension, general relaxation, or feeling looser after activity. He then does a brief assessment to understand how your muscles are moving. This first-visit assessment is included at no extra charge. If anything in your history suggests you should check with your physician first, he will let you know.
What the session itself is like
You will be properly draped with a sheet throughout the massage, and only the area being worked on is uncovered at any time. You undress to your level of comfort, and Mirek steps out of the room while you settle onto the table. Your privacy and comfort come first from start to finish.
Communication is a normal part of a good session. Tell Mirek if you would like more or less pressure, if a position is uncomfortable, or if you would prefer he focus somewhere specific. You can ask him to adjust anything at any point. Massage should not be painful, so speak up if something does not feel right, and he will adapt. Many people find the time helps them relax and may help ease everyday muscle tension.
How the appointment wraps up and how to book
When the session ends, Mirek steps out so you can get dressed, then packs up the table and supplies. Payment is by cash or e-transfer, and you receive an official RMT receipt that you can submit to your extended health plan for possible insurance reimbursement, depending on your coverage. It is a good idea to drink some water and ease back into the rest of your day gently.
Booking is simple. Call or text to arrange a time, and Mirek travels to homes across Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington and Milton. There is no online form, and the first-visit assessment is included. If you have a health condition or any concerns about whether massage is suitable for you, check with your physician beforehand, and seek prompt medical care for any new or worsening warning signs.
